An endangered wildflower, Peters Mountain mallow (Iliamna corei), grows in pockets of shallow soil on a sandstone outcrop on the northwest slope. The Nature Conservancy protects this single remaining population with fencing, artificial watering, and removal of encroaching vegetation.
