Jack-in-the-pulpit

Keep a sharp eye out along the banks of tributary streams at North Fork of Pound Lake for jack-in-the-pulpit. The green and purplish-brown striped flower, which resembles a preacher in an elaborate covered pulpit, hides beneath three large leaves. Though sometimes hard to spot, Arisaema triphyllum is abundant in the damp woods of the Appalachians.
