Birding Ethics

These guidelines are provided by the National Audubon Society.

• Avoid chasing or repeatedly flushing birds.
• Avoid excessive use of recordings.
• Avoid approaching too close to nests and colonies.
• Do not handle birds or eggs except if engaged in rehabilitation activities.
• Avoid trampling the vegetation and breaking branches.
• Do not litter or otherwise introduce foreign materials into natural environments.
• Do not trespass.
• Follow all regulations in using public land.
