Birding Ethics

These guidelines are provided by the National Audubon Society.

Avoid chasing or repeatedly flushing birds.
Avoid excessive use of recordings.
Avoid approaching too close to nests and colonies.
Do not handle birds or eggs except if engaged in rehabilitation activities.
Avoid trampling the vegetation and breaking branches.
Do not litter or otherwise introduce foreign materials into natural environments.
Do not trespass.
Follow all regulations in using public land.
